  1. Hmmm. I’ve been wanting to try something by Jenni Fagan but I don’t think this is the one for me. I’ve read so many books about early modern witch trials already! I agree with you that the slippage between witches are real/witches are a social construct used to oppress people is a bit of a problem – I feel like it turns up in other novels on this topic as well.

    • I enjoyed The Sunlight Pilgrims when I read it (though it was quite a few years ago now), and I’ve had my eye on a couple of others by her. This was perfectly fine but I can’t say it brought anything new to a well worn topic.
