For ease (mine and yours), I’ve decided to strip back my monthly wrap ups a bit. Rather than re-summarise my thoughts, I’ll simply share my rating with a link to my full review if you’d like more in-depth thoughts.
Though not strictly bookish, I’ll also share any embroidery projects I finished at the end of the post, since it’s taking up increasing amounts of my time, and some of you were very kind about the previous pieces I shared. (Thank you again for that; a love for embroidery was probably the only decent thing to come out of last year for me!)
But without further ado, let’s jump into it.

Favourite of the month: The Butcher’s Blessing
I enjoyed trying out a few different styles with my embroidery projects this month. The squirrel piece in particular is probably the most complex pattern I’ve taken on so far, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out!
What was your favourite read in January?
The squirrel piece is so nice – I can see how it must have been a complex one to do!
Thank you very much! It was a challenge but I really enjoyed it.
Your embroidery is stunning! I’m reading The Butchers (as my copy is called!) at the moment and it is so good. Look forward to your review.
Thank you very much! 🧵 Glad to hear you’re enjoying it too, I was so impressed!
omg the owl ??? your embroidery is BEAUTIFUL
Thank you so much! 😊
Gorgeous book covers there, gotta check out your 5 star book. Woah, that embroidery! I LOVE the owl!!!
Thank you very much! 😊
Oh my gosh, are all those flowers in the embroidery with the little house french knots?? Somehow those have always been a challenge for me, I am in awe of the patience that must have taken! I also really love the squirrel, who is adorable. 🙂 Looking forward to your review of The Butcher’s Blessing, I’ve been curious for a while and won’t need much of an excuse to put it on my TBR at last… as your favorite of the month I think you just might convince me!
Yes, they are! I dread to think how many there are 😂 Thank you! I’ll hopefully have the review up soon, I’d love to see more people picking it up!
