  1. Great recommendation post as always! I recently watched a tv programme about trans people that featured Juno Dawson and I’ve been interested in reading her books since then. The Sunlight Pilgrims and George also sound really good! 🙂

  2. The only thing I would mention is that although there’s a diverse spread in some respects, there isn’t in other respects. I’ve seen a lot of people sharing books about diverse trans people but noticed they all focus on trans women without ever including any books about trans men or non-binary people!

It’s great that you did this list though 🙂

    • It’s a very fair point. I’ve noticed in my own search for good trans books that trans men are very under represented. These recs are based purely on some of the best I’ve found in my own reading thus far, so I’m more than happy to receive any recommendations people may have 😊

    • I meant to say, from the selection in this post, Trumpet focuses on a trans man. Joss was born biologically female and hasn’t transitioned physically but is very much living as a man.

The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson also includes a female-to-male trans character, and it came to mind when I was making this post. But in all honestly, I found some elements of the story problematic on reflection, hence why I picked others to feature over it.

From my TBR, I’ve heard good things about Trans Mission: My Quest to a Beard by Alex Bertie. And on the non-binary side of things, I’ve also heard good things about Darling Days by iO Tillet Wright.

Hope this helps! 😊 But as I said, I’m always on the lookout for more recommendations myself.

      Happy reading! 😊
