Seeking Solace
This week is the one year anniversary of the publication of my poetry collection, Seeking Solace. To celebrate, the Kindle edition is on sale until Sunday, available for just 99p / 99 cents, as well as in a paperback format as usual.
That said, you can find it on Amazon UK by clicking here or Amazon US by clicking here. You can also find it on Goodreads.
Iβve included a couple of poems below which appear in the collection to whet your appetite. Huge thanks to anyone who picks up a copy. If you enjoy it, please feel free to leave a review; what a lovely first birthday present that would be π Happy reading!

I SEE YOU, WALLFLOWER
Shapeless shadows drifting,
obscured by their own darkness.
A whisper in the breeze,
a raindrop on an ocean
lost, but no less living.
Elusive and intangible
like hunting smoke with nets,
if you can find the courage
to let your voice go free
then I am here to listen.

GOODBYE
Goodbye Mr Tiger,
your eyes they burned so bright.
Iβll think of all their golden charm
when I close my own at night.
Goodbye Mr Elephant,
so mighty, the ground it shook.
Iβll keep alive your memory
when I read my storybook.
Goodbye Mr Leopard,
so stealthy and so shy.
I wish it didnβt end this way,
I wish you did not die.
Goodbye Mother Nature,
so generous, so pure.
I donβt blame you for leaving us,
weβre sick and thereβs no cure.
Goodbye fellow human,
I guess Iβll be alone.
When nothing else was left to kill
it seems we killed our own.
It doesn’t seem a year that I saw your blog post announcing it. Well done, Callum and happy book birthday!
It has been a scarily fast year, hasn’t it? Thank you so much π
Just tweeted that, Callum, hope you don’t mind.
Not at all! Thank you so much for sharing π
No worries, Callum π

Thanks again for sharing. It’s very kind of you π
Im happy to help support a fellow Author π
Wow, it doesn’t feel like a year. If I’d known, I would have been bugging you about the next volume π You picked a couple of crackers to reel people in. I’d say they’re my favourites, but then, with your work – they’re all my favourites! I’ll think, I love that, then turn the page and think the same thing π
Haha π That’s lovely to hear, Mel, and I’m always flattered and humbled by your support. Thank you! π
You laugh, but I make no apologies for how many times I’m going to bug you for another collection in the future! BTW – what are you working on at the moment, and how’s it going?
I’m sure there will be another collection someday π
I’m working on another novel but essentially scrapped it and went back to the drawing board at one point so it’ll be a while before it sees the light of day. I’ve also been dipping into short stories more which is something I’d like to continue. Overall though, my freelance work has been taking up most of my writing time for a while, which is good financially if a little less exciting π
What about you?
Short stories are pretty great, and if that continues we might get a collection – hint, hint! And, I’ll take someday for the poetry, because that’s awesome news π I’m glad the freelance work is going well.
I’m busy with The Collective, which has roots in the Fractured series, though, it’s slow going. I’m aiming for the first episode to be released in April, but we’ll see. There have been lots of changes for me, and I’m learning not to put too much pressure on myself!
Hint taken and duly noted π Glad to hear you’re not pressuring yourself. It’s not easy being a writer, especially when it’s balanced with other work. I suppose that’s part of what’s so nice about the writer community on the blogosphere – we ‘get it’ π
So true. It’s a vital part of a writers life, I think – having people who get it π
Great poems in their own way π
Thank you very much π
Happy Book birthday! π
Thank you very much! π
Happy, Happy. Birthday, Callum!
Thank you very much, Gina! π
